Reiki is gentle energy healing, and can be applied outside our human species. In addition to being a Reiki Master Teacher, I have pursued additional training to become a certified Animal Reiki Master. This type of healing can help pets and farm animals with pain, medical issues, anxiety relief, dealing with past trauma, adjusting to new pets in the home, moving, shelter/kennel fears, concerns around specific genders, vet visits, and life transitions.

My history with, and love of animals includes growing up on a farm in South Dakota with horses, sheep, chickens, geese, cats, and dogs. We have raised free range chickens for eggs in recent years, and currently have two cats and one goldfish residing in our home.

Animal Reiki Sessions begin either remotely, or in person where the animal resides, and at a distance to the animal to show the animal that I am a non-threatening presence, and am there to help. It is recommended to choose a time that the animal is naturally relaxed. When meeting the animal, I reassure them with my stance, and through word and thought, and potentially friendly touch, depending on the animal, and if the animal is receptive to it. Just like humans, animals have choice in their healing, and they may not be initially open. That is why three consecutive sessions are recommended for treatment.
