My name is Maggie Amato Panyko, and I am a Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Master. I studied and received my Reiki attunements under Jenn Castillo-Staats, a Spiritual Wellness and Intuitive Coach, based in Loveland, OH. Prior to January 2026, I had a home-based Reiki practice for in-person and distance sessions. When Jenn offered to open her studio space to other trusted practitioners, I happily jumped at the chance to be in her beautifully curated space, with its positive, healing energy. My background is in the Humanities, Philosophy, and the Arts. I have loved music from a young age and have sung for, and been Managing Director of the groundbreaking, social-justice-minded MUSE, Cincinnati’s Women’s Choir. I now sing with the beautifully diverse and musically evocative Vox Veritatis Choir. I have a supportive husband of 23 years, and two wonderful and talented kids.
As a child, I was open to learning about the deeply spiritual and metaphysical world we inhabit. I grew up as a Roman Catholic and later explored other faiths such as Swedenborgianism, and Spiritualism. I was curious about spirits, and found that Reiki fit nicely into my world and spiritual view of the existence of a universal energy that we all belong to. As a youth, trusting that there were highly-vibrating energies, like angels, saints, spirits, guides, and loved ones who had crossed over, provided a framework for understanding that we are not just our bodies, and that we, too, are made of energy. There is energy within us and all around us at different frequencies, and it is limitless. Being aware of this energy, and trusting that all of us, with loving intentions, and caring for the concerns and well-being of others, can open doors to healing and peace.
Just as prayer and modalities such of Healing Touch, and the religious practices such as laying on of hands have shown powerful changes in the people who they are directed to, Reiki also offers a gentle, and even research-supported way of accessing that energy, and a method for it to pass through us, as practitioners to the intended recipient. In doing so, the practitioner is also illuminated by that love and positive energy.
